Joanna Page ‘to front travel mini-series for This Morning’

VacationHunter — Joanna Page will front a travel mini-series for ‘This Morning’.
The ‘Gavin and Stacey’ star has been named as the host of a four-part travel programme that will showcase holiday destinations across the UK and Europe featured in hit films – including the James Bond franchise, ‘The Railway Children, ‘Downton Abbey’ and ‘Paddington’ – for the ITV1 daytime show.
The 46-year-old actress told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “’Gavin and Stacey’ put Barry Island on the map when it burst on to our screens in 2007 and in the UK – and apparently almost half of us would consider visiting a destination after seeing it on a show or movie.”
Joanna will also head to Italy to check out spots shown in the Sir Ridley Scott helmed ‘Gladiator’, which starred Russell Crowe.
She added: “I am exploring some of the top filming locations in Europe.
“Whether it be busy train stations, sleepy Yorkshire towns or historical buildings, virtually anywhere can be the setting for your favourite film and TV.
“In this series I’m going to be visiting some of my favourites.”
Insiders close to the ‘Love Actually’ star enthused how she is “thrilled” to get the gig for the magazine programme, which is presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
They told the publication: “Joanna is a huge fan of This Morning, having been a viewer for many years, and is utterly thrilled to be a small part of the on-screen family for this mini-series.”
The actress previously called meeting the star-studded cast of the 2003 festive rom-com ‘Love Actually’ – in which she appeared as Just Judy – “huge”.
Joanna told the Metro newspaper: “Arriving for the read-through was just huge.
“I mean, I must have been about 23 and I walked into the door and there was Martine McCutcheon opposite me, Hugh Grant was next to her, then there was Liam Neeson and Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson.
“I was just like, ‘Oh my God, this is a room full of everybody who I admire and I can’t believe I’ve got to open my mouth and speak to them.’
“Then Richard Curtis said to me, ‘The American girls can’t be here, so can you read their lines at the end of the film?’ So I was like, ‘OK, yes, I’ll do that.’ And then I spent the next two hours absolutely panicking. Should I do an American accent? Should I not? Oh, my God, is it going to be awful? So it came to the lines and I attempted the accent. Everybody laughed.”
