Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla visit ITV

ICONINSIDER — Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have paid a visit to the ITV studios to mark the 90th anniversary of the Royal Television Society (RTS).
The 69-year-old royal is the patron of the society, and on Wednesday (31.01.18) he and his wife Camilla, 70, took a trip to the studios of broadcasters ITV to meet with the stars of programmes such as ‘This Morning’, ‘Loose Women’, and ‘Good Morning Britain’.
During their visit to ‘This Morning’ – which is also celebrating its 30th anniversary later this year – in scenes which will be aired on the show on Thursday (01.02.18), the pair were treated to a special meal of mutton hotpot with honeyed parsnips, cooked by the show’s chef Phil Vickery.
Show host Phillip Schofield told ITV News: “Phil was actually cooking mutton, which is one of the Prince of Wales’ favourites, less so for the Duchess of Cornwall she told us, and I think it’s alright for me to say that. She did try it, so that was lovely.”
And his co-host Holly Willoughby added: “It’s been wonderful to welcome their Royal Highnesses to ‘This Morning’. It’s an exciting year for us here, and it’s lovely to share with them some of our highlights.”
Whilst at the studios, Charles and Camilla also met with the likes of Lorraine Kelly, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, as well as ‘Loose Women’ stars Andrea McLean and Gloria Hunniford.
Camilla also had a discussion about BBC dancing competition ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with Ruth Langsford, who hosts ‘This Morning’ with her husband Eamonn Holmes on Fridays and during school holidays.
Holly said: “I loved listening to Ruth chatting to the Duchess about ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. I was like, ‘She’s just like us, she watches Strictly on a Saturday night.'”
The royal couple also attended a celebration for the 90th birthday of the RTS, where they cut open a cake in the shape of the society’s logo.
