Prince Harry + Meghan Markle gifted love spoon
ICONINSIDER — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took home a traditional love spoon as they toured Cardiff on Thursday (18.01.18).
The couple – who are set to tie the knot later this year – visited the Welsh capital and were handed the Celtic love spoon by local schoolchildren called Harry and Megan.
Sharing a picture of Prince Harry and Meghan receiving the love spoon, Kensington Palace wrote on Twitter: “Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are presented with a traditional Celtic love spoon by local children, named Harry and Megan.”
The pair then immersed themselves in Welsh culture during on a tour of Cardiff Castle, where they met musicians, poets and sportsmen and women as part of the Welsh Festival of Culture.
They added on their page: “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle are in Cardiff for a day showcasing the rich culture and heritage of Wales. Thank you so much to everyone who has waited to welcome Prince Harry and Ms. Markle to Cardiff. Prynhawn da Caerdydd! What an incredible welcome to Wales! … Their tour of @cardiff_castle includes a Welsh Festival of Culture, where they are meeting musicians, poets and leading sportsmen and women. (sic)”
During their walk about, Meghan told a member of the public that she was “very lucky” to be with Prince Harry.
Julie Hoefer, who is from Dundas, Virginia, told People magazine: “We don’t have a royal family in America, and the whole idea is amazing. And now we have one who joined the family – finally. It is super exciting. Meghan was lovely. She came over and was talking and showed us her ring. It was gorgeous. She said she was ‘super lucky, a very lucky woman’. She asked me where I was from – I said Virginia and she said it was very nice. She was really stunning up close.”
