Queen Elizabeth's shoe servants

ICONINSIDER — Queen Elizabeth reportedly makes her servant stretch her new shoes for her.
The 90-year-old royal never suffers from painful blisters on her feet because she has a member of staff who breaks in her black low heels, which cost around £1,000 from Anello & Davide, so that she can go about her duties without sore trotters.
Designer and long-time royal dressmaker Stewart Parvin is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “The shoes have to be immediately comfortable … she does get someone to wear them. The Queen can never say ‘I’m uncomfortable, I can’t walk any more. She has the right to have someone wear them in.”
However, there are some strict guidelines her shoe servant has to follow as she’s only allowed to walk up and down corridors with carpet and has to wear socks.
The heels are also given one trial run outside after they’ve been made by Anello & Davide to ensure their durability in all weather conditions and have a decent grip.
Meanwhile, it’s not just her shoes she demands as the monarch also likes to travel with chocolate biscuit cake whenever she leaves her home.
Chef Darren McGrady said previously: “Now the chocolate biscuit cake is the only cake that goes back again and again and again everyday until it’s all gone.
“She’ll take a small slice every day until eventually there is only one tiny piece, but you have to send that up, she wants to finish the whole of that cake.”
