Home and Away sets filming return date

‘Home and Away’ will resume filming in two weeks’ time.
The Channel 5 soap – which has been on a two month break due to the coronavirus pandemic – is set to bring its cast and crew back on set later this month as bosses look to restart production with social distancing measures in place alongside other precautions.
It’s been confirmed filming will be back underway on Monday, May 25 at the show’s studios in Sydney, although it’s thought location shoots at Palm Beach will still be halted.
A spokeswoman for Channel 7 – which broadcasts the show in Australia – told the country’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “A range of measures will be in place to minimise risk for cast and crew, to be overseen by dedicated safety officer.
“The measures include temperature checks on arrival, increased hygiene practices and rigorous cleaning schedules.”
The exciting update comes after ‘Home and Away’ returned to air last month after Channel Seven had been using its peak time slot to cover the ongoing health crisis.
Actress Lynne McGranger – who plays Irene Roberts – previously revealed plans for the comeback.
She said at the time: “Hope you’re keeping well and busy and staying at home and staying safe.
“I just wanted to let you know, I have it on good authority that ‘Home and Away’ will be back on air on Monday, April 13th. I’m excited, I hope you are too.”
The programme resumed its usual schedule broadcasting Monday to Thursday nights, after being replaced recently by special news coverage.
In a previous statement, they explained: “Home And Away will be off air from tonight while 7NEWS keeps the nation informed with The Latest, nightly at 7pm.”
