Joanna Lumley to uncover ‘hidden gems’ in new ITV travel documentary

Joanna Lumley will jet off to the Caribbean for a new two-part ITV documentary.
The 73-year-old actress kicks-off her 1,500-mile journey in Havana where she will go on to explore two of the most enigmatic countries in the region – Cuba and Haiti.
She said: “I’m so thrilled to have had the opportunity to go on this adventure and show people a side to these Caribbean countries that they have never seen before.”
Joanna will visit bustling cities, unspoiled coastlines, pristine beaches, majestic mountains and lush forests on her travels.
The new series, ‘Joanna Lumley’s Hidden Caribbean: Havana to Haiti’, is set to air in Spring 2020.
Clive Tulloh, Executive producer at Burning Bright, said: “Joanna adores travelling and exploring and this genuine passion is the reason her shows are so good and so popular.”
Jo Clinton-Davis, ITV Controller of Factual, added: “Joanna’s enthusiasm for and curiosity about the countries and cultures she explores always adds a layer of interest and excitement for viewers – no more so than this adventure into the hidden wonders of these two remarkable Caribbean neighbours.”
In recent years, Joanna has worked extensively with ITV while travelling across the globe for various documentaries, including ‘Joanna Lumley’s Nile’ in 2010, ‘Joanna Lumley’s Trans-Siberian Adventure’ in 2015 and ‘Joanna Lumley’s Silk Road Adventure’ in 2018.
Joanna recently confessed she loves to browse in second-hand stores because she finds a lot of the items much more “interesting” than what she already has in her wardrobe.
She said: “Other people’s cast-offs are a lot more interesting than your own.”
