Geri Halliwell joins All Together Now
ICONINSIDER — Geri Halliwell has joined the BBC’s new singing show ‘All Together Now’.
The former Spice Girls singer will head The 100 – a unique panel of musical experts and performers from all over the UK – for the channel’s forthcoming contest, hosted by Rob Beckett, in which a range of aspiring pop stars take to stage to perform in front of the panel in a bid to rack up a huge score and potentially launch a music career.
Geri said of her new gig: “I’m so excited to be part of this show. It’s about celebrating talent, uniting people from all walks of life, feeling good AND singing! It’s a whole lot of joy standing up together on a Saturday night.”
The contestants will belt out the lyrics to some of their favourite songs, and if any of The 100 like what they hear, they can stand up and join in – and the greater the number that get up from their seats and sing along, the higher the contestant’s score.
Rob added: “If like me you’re the sort of person who likes to belt out a tune in the shower then I’m pretty sure this is the show for you… but if you’re the sort of person who likes to belt out a tune in the shower while another hundred people join in…then firstly, how big’s your bathroom? And secondly this is definitely the show for you!”
It’s not yet known what other musicians will be joining the 45-year-old beauty on the panel when the six-part series hits television screens sometime next year.
Kate Phillips, Controller Entertainment Commissioning BBC said: “What we really really wanted on this show was a leader of the The 100 with expertise, entertainment and energy. Geri is the perfect choice and we can’t wait for her and Rob to spice up Saturday nights on BBC One.”
